Purchasing a new freezer often requires the same pre-planning as Refrigerators. Let’s begin by confessing that it would be wise to follow the same ‘Must-Do Check List’ Teletime has provided in the Refrigerator section of the Buying Guide. Of course, there are a few differences to omit from the six (6) key points, but the notion remains the same – Prepare, Plan, Purchase, and take Pride. Always prepare by measuring your area and the freezer multiple times for accuracy of the required space. Whether it’s a vertical or horizontal freezer, the same preparation is applied; be conscious of the surrounding area and adjacent objects, which way the freezer opens, the hinges, the temperature, the overall layout. Furthermore, plan ahead by deciding what size of freezer you really need; does your household normally store a lot of frozen foods? Do you need more space? Do you need less space? Will you have the same amount of people and/or food consumption for the foreseeable future? The reality is, some households are occupied by small families and do not need a large freezer to take up space and use energy. Teletime firmly stands behind coming into one of our stores and discussing these matters with a representative. Our end goal is the same; for you to make the RIGHT purchase, and then take pride in knowing you did. Always know your needs and let us help you meet them.

Choose a larger capacity freezer if you require more storage but consider the layout and features each model has. Some freezers have multiple compartments which can help divide and maximize your storage options. Be aware that some models may offer more usable storage space because it has a thin layer of insulation; check for variances between appliances of the same size.

System
Some of the Freezer models are equipped with frost free technology to make maintenance easier. Moreover, this technology prevents the build-up of ice so you do not need to manually defrost the appliance. This system aids in many great ways; it prevents freezer burn which saves you time and money by limiting food waste and sparing you the hassle of cleaning a cumbersome mess. Static Freezers require manual defrosting periodically to ensure optimum performance and storage conditions.
